Elm Ridge WCID Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

Mark your calendars for our annual household hazardous waste collection event.

When: Saturday, October 14th, 9AM - 12PM

Where: Artesia South Clubhouse, https://maps.app.goo.gl/g3VizMYn8ZvLDSTN81550 Artesia Blvd, Prosper, TX 75078

Collection Rules (no exceptions)

• This event is open to Elm Ridge WCID residents only.

• No containers larger than 5 gallons

• Containers must be spill-proof and not leaking

• Gasoline, diesel, and other fuels must be in containers approved for their transport

• All items, other than used cooking oil and used motor oil, must be in their original containers

Accepted Materials

Acids • Used motor oil and filters • Antifreeze • Batteries • Paint • Solvents and varnish • Pool Chemicals • Herbicides and Pesticides • Cleaning products such as oven cleaner, drain opener, and stain remover • Paint stripper/thinners • Fluorescent Bulbs • Engine degreaser • Brake, transmission fluid and other automotive fluids • Containers must be spill-proof.

Prohibited Materials

Medical and pharmaceutical items • Explosives, fireworks, or ammunition • Asbestos containing material • Industrial, commercial, or business waste (residential/home use only) • Radioactive material • Large propane cylinders or other compressed gasses • Items without original labels or without caps or lids • Tires
